the Living Room

Last Saturday a few member of my bloggers group met up with Neda and Nika of P. Luca for some drinks at the Living Room at the W hotel in Times Square. After a few introductions, Neda and Nika gave us a brief presentation of their line on how it got started, their stores, how they choose their items etc.
exciting things coming next year!

Neda and Nika are sisters, daughter of the Fashion designer Barami who has been dressing women since the 1980's. The girls being young loving what their father did decided that they wanted to do the same for girls of their age and set out to do so. The line is young and stylish as are the girls who are both single and very gifted by the way. The line ranges from sweater knits to sleek on trend pieces, from blouses to dresses to pants and even accessories.

At the end of the presentation the girls gave us a really versatile top to take home. The reason I say versatile is because I actually wore one to work today with a pair of jeans but it could be worn over a simple LBD for a night out on the town or even a pair of leggings. The shirts zipper from sleeve to sleeve so it can be worn off the shoulders, boat neck or one shoulder etc. The shirt also drapes really nice on the body so it covers all those bits and pieces that you might wanna hide!

Radenroro Spring 2012 Presentation

When I first heard of Radenroro, it was when I had purchased a dress from Filene's Basement a year ago, I unfortunately outgrew the dress and I gave it to my sister in law who proudly wears it. Then after seeing Liquica on the show All On the Line I was promptly hooked! I really loved the pieces that she showed on the show especially the ones with the teddy bear print. My next foray into the line was a python print top that I got from my blogger friend Monroe at a clothing swap that I wore here

When I got the invitation to come see the Spring 2012 presentation I jumped for joy. The presentation was held at the Mansion of the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia on the upper east side. I actually got off a stop to early and had to pass stores like Chanel, Prada, Hermes and Tiffany's (which I drooled at their window displays) on my way there. But once I got there I was greeted directly by Liquica herself. She is such a darling and tiny too,  I also got to meet her husband Andrei.

I love the spring line I was literally pointing out things one after another that I would die to have in my closet. Her designs are young and fresh that I could have so much fun with skipping all over the city wearing them. There was a lot of color, color pairings like banana yellow and hot pink that I really enjoyed. The tailoring of her pants were amazing as well, seaming that would make any kind of backside look good. Also what is new is the  new print design of unicorns, which I truly got excited for. All in all I really loved the collection and I just can't wait for spring to get here. If you love her design as well you can find her pieces on her website, Scoop NYC and at Nordstrom.

I am loving the gold sequin pants

on left lace pant with pocket and leather trim ♥

How cool is this necklace, a great tie in with the print.
my favorite piece the colors remind me of starburst candy

Love this

I have somethings in my closet that I can wear to pull off this look for now but I love how these pants are cut.

N:F:P Runway SS 2012

How do you spell hectic? I spell it with two words Fashion Week. You think I'm joking, between my full time job and running around to doctor appointments NYFW was a little tiresome. It was great and all but I think next time I will take off the week or something. It also didnt help that it was rainy, humid and warmish because it was. But I did have fun, I got to meet a lot of cool people some of them famous, I got some free swag and I got an edge on what to stock my closet with for next spring.

But the last and final event I had for fashion week was pretty cool.  N:F:P aka New Form Perspective by the designer Gail Travis had an innovative design with knits, taking the ordinary sweater and turning it up on its edge. Each of the different knits could be worn so many different ways some being a full on knit long sleeve sweater to a vest with a scarf to being a simple wrap. Some of the pieces could be mix and matched as well. During the presentation I thought to myself that I could replace have the sweaters in my drawers with just two and have an entire season of knits at my disposal. Just think of what I could put in the space that I made removing my old bulky sweaters.

The actual presentation consisted of girls in basic base wardrobe come down the runway wearing one sweater stopping in the middle removing a piece like a sleeve and attaching that sleeve to make a scarf or a belt. then going to the end to look in a mirror and change the piece again to make it a vest. Each girl brought down a different knit and dropped it off taking was was left by the previous girl.

At the end of the presentation we were offered a portrait illustration by Meagan Morrison which unfortunatly ran out of time for me to sit with but I did get to pose for another illustrator Mara Cespon who I was so grateful for because she captured me perfectly.

Mod Swap with Modcloth and the Swapaholics

On Friday I attended the Mod Swap event at Black Door in Manhattan put together by Modcloth and the Swapaholics. I was told to bring two items to swap out for two other items and throughout the night I could keep swapping as things came in. I also got to pick out a brand new item from the ModCloth rack, I ended up getting a nice tweet coat from Steve Madden.
Searching through the ModCloth rack, free item from Modcloth? Hell Yeah!

Bloggers Night Out

Friday night after hitting up the Modswap event I went to the Bloggers Night Out event at Pranna on Madison ave. While sipping on a few drinks from the open bar and meeting new bloggers I had a great time. I got to spin the wheel at Lulu's for a discount code, mine didn't work but Lulu's sent me an even better code so I snatched up a skirt I've been wanting. I also learned about the new wardrobe app from Stylebook
