Since Wednesday I have been North Carolina visiting my Mom. I've been doing a lot of thrift shopping, hitting up the local Goodwills and my favorite vintage shop Beggars and Choosers in Pittsboro. I been getting good finds like the plaid coat I am wearing which I got to wear today because it was a chilly 47 degrees this morning. vAs usual I shopped a bit to much because I think I am going to have to ship some things home by mail.

Even though I brought my laptop with me Ive been lacking in my outfit posts, I really have been driving around with my mom during the day and it rained Wednesday, Thursday and a bit on yesterday. Even now I am in the middle of my cooking for Christmas Eve with my mom, I'm baking some breaded shrimp and boiling some squash for Sopapillas.

 Happy Holidays!

Coldest Day Yet.

I am a person who loves to give back when I can to those who need it most. While I have my organizations that I donate to every month like the ASPCA, WWF, etc...I like animal organizations. But when I read that there was an event that brought bloggers and a charity together, I was on it. The event was a blogger holiday garage sale for the benefit of Women In Need put together by Keiko and fellow bloggers.

Table of items up for a raffle.

So Sunday I braved NYC coldest day yet (it was 25 degrees when I took my outfit shots) and headed into the city. I bought a few things three of which filled my wardrobe need list and I put in some money towards a raffle. So all in all I got some donating and shopping done.

I started out with this coat and switched to my down coat before I left for the city.

Red wool coat - Green Envy via Loehmanns
Wool scarf - CK
Black silk blouse - Vintage
Plaid pants - H&M
Oxford Wedges - Madden Girl
Leopard bag - Rebecca Minkoff c/o Lucky Magazine
Red grommet belt - Target?
sunglasses - Armani Exchange via Marshalls

I just won this bag, I put in a ticket for a raffle at the Lucky Shops event back in November and Lucky just notified me that I won the bag and a swim suit set on Monday and by Thursday it was in my possession.

What even better is that my new Macbook Air fits in it with all it gear, talk about an expensive laptop bag. Rebecca if you hear this you should market that it fits the MacBook Air 11" with cords and Air Drive! Just saying you know.

My Mom, she gets all my posts via mail and I get all her replies back though email. I thank the Gods that she hasn't learned to comment via the comment section, because she is a Mom with very Mommy comments. Love her!! You know who is here also??? My dog Lily she stays with my Mother and her other dogs.

Life Is A Cabaret, Ole Chum

Last Tuesday I went to Steve Madden store on 57th and Lex for an event that Keiko was hosting. The theme of the party event was Cabaret, so I put on my best Fosse outfit and headed over. While I was there I chatted a bit with Keiko and I got some eyelashes put on at the makeup station. Christine and Tessa joined me also at the event and we had too much fun fawning over shoes and taking photos in the photo booth that was set up.

Me and Keiko in out Cabaret best!

Tessa and Chris in their haughtiness!

Mine and Tessa's Steve Madden shoes. Notice that we both wore fishnets!

What I wore:
Collared shirt - Karl Largerfeld for Macys
Vest - H&M
Shorts - Target
Bowler hat (I added the feather pin) - Claires Boutique
Piano suspenders - Hot Topic
Pink heels Gretta - Steve Madden

nail polish is NYC Color in MoMa.

I loved my Karl shirt but the collar was too much by the end of the night, I don't know how Karl does it everyday. Speaking of Karl have you ever see the documentary on him? He has got a drawer full of the collars and a million rings to choose from to put on every finger.

We had a bit of fun with the props...I think Tessa wanted to go home with the boa!

Red Vines

This past Saturday I went to an Ingrid Michaelson concert in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with my friend David. It was my christmas present from him this year and it has become our annual tradition since we have gone every year (except last year) and Ingrid puts on a great Holiday Hop show. Unfortunately though I had to give up my work's Christmas Party which I love going to but it was worth it.

While we we in Williamsburg we ate at the BBQ place called Fette Sau, Fette Sau is a nice place but really crowded and so we had to sit at the bar. David and I had been to another BBQ place in Williamsburg called Fatty Cue's which we agreed we liked better.

By the way the Bebe skirt I am wearing was really a dress but I was falling out the top so I slid it down and made a pencil skirt out of it. I also decided to throw together my outfit based on my Argyle tights that I picked up at TJ Maxx last month.

Red blazer - Vintage
Black fur vest and fedora (old) - H&M
Skirt (was a tube dress) - BeBe
Grey sweater - Target
Argyle tights - unknown (TJ Maxx)
Boots - Dolcetta (Dolce Vita)
Chanel tote - Vintage
Belt and leather gloves - unknown (old)
Sunglasses - Raybans

It was windy on Saturday I was seriously holding on to my hat.
