This past Sunday I headed out to the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island here in NYC. This is the first time that I was able to go to the biannual party, time and scheduling conflicts kept me from going earlier. I love dressing up and putting on a costume of an era stepping back in time to enjoy all there was to enjoy of the era. And this wasn't my first time heading back into the 1920's clothing era, my Mom and I attended a ladies lunch where we also dressed up in that era.
Chris, Alice, Rebecca (Alice's cousin) and I had so much fun, Chris and I took a turn out on the dance floor and we all had a picnic on the lawn and did some glove shopping. There was so much to do there, from people watching to listening to the music to browsing the vintage boutique tables surrounding the lawn. The weather was perfect and the surrounding was beautiful adding to the perfect 1920's day.
10/16/12 Update: Check out the Sammy Davis Vintage blog on more 1920's clothing trends in modern tv & films productions in this post.
