Heart of a City

What I wore:

denim shirt - American Eagle Outfitters (old) similar one

leopard dress worn as a skirt - thrifted (also my favorite piece in my wardrobe) similar one

It seems that I am constantly by the water, I feel like I am drawn to it lately. It helps that I live within a mile of the Long Island Sound and its bays that surround Queens and the city. Just across the river in these pics is the Bronx, and yes you see green over there. 

The city isn't just a concrete jungle as the song says, but a haven of green dotted with pavements. I love that you can just find yourself in the middle of the woods and listening to the birds chirping in a grove of trees in the middle of the city and not have to travel miles just to get away from pavement. For some of us its just right in our back yard. 

I think the saying following saying can apply to the city: "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder."One just has to open their eyes and really look.
