Weight of the World

What I wore:

turtleneck and fedora (old) - H&M
denim jacket - Calvin Klein (old)
bag - Tokidoki
sneakers - Converse
sunnies - Ray Ban
turquoise ring - brought from Chile
Tiger's Eye ring - my dad's ring from 1970's

Had a bit of time before Thanksgiving dinner last month to take a stroll in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Unisphere was built in the park for the the 1964 World Fair that was held in the park. The globe was built to represent the theme of the fair which was "Peace Through Understanding" a theme that is relevant today.  The Unisphere is a iconic symbol of Queens and has been featured in film and in print. To see the Unisphere and all its 140 feet of stainless steel just take the 7 train from Manhattan or Flushing to Willet's Point/ Citi Field stop and head towards the tennis stadium into Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

With the world suffering in the past two months with Hurricane Sandy and following snow storm, uprising in the in Israel and the shooting in Connecticut it seems that the world has gone haywire. Its hard not to believe the Mayan Calendar was right in saying the world as we know it is ending. Shall we fear December 21 2012 or shall we embrace it with open arms?

"When the weight of all the world's gone wrong.
It's gone wrong again
Gone fucking wrong
It's gone all wrong again."
