Dodging mounds of snow and end-of-side-walk-puddles the size of the Atlantic Ocean left over from the Friday night's before blizzard, I managed to make it to one show off-site of the tents on Saturday. Jen Kao's F/W 2013 show was held inside the building that also houses the once largest US post office in NYC and the USA. The space was large and open with a wide birth to handle the 42 pieces that was in Jen's collection.
The first 15 pieces included a lot of denim, most being patchwork pieces in dark denim hues. Coats and jackets, skirts, pants, dresses and shoes all collaborated in mixed denim patchwork, shearling, leather, and cashmere.
The next pieces were tailored that included silk, wool, vinyl, patent leather, neoprene and silk. The pieces were modern and fresh with aysmetrical and wrap skirts, tapered pants structured jackets and boxy tops.
Jen awakened the audience with black with white spotted mink, pink wool tees, a black vinyl dress and a shocking silver top and matching pants.
She finished her show with more tailored pieces that included leather pants and silk and crushed velvet dresses and gowns.
The models walked down the long runway with kohl rimmed eyes and red lips all accessorized with shoes, bags and jewelry designed by Jen Kao herself.
*** I want to thank Tessa of Couture Lust for letting me take her place at the show.

looks like a great fashion show. I would love to be in NYC for fashion week.
